We are looking forward to the trips to come in deeper water and hope for much better catches.

JULY 20, 2014 AM: 12 passengers, 96 perch, 61 whitebass.

JULY 20, 2014 PM:

JULY 21, 2014 AM: 22 passengers, 94 perch. The lake was as calm as a sheet of glass (which is not ideal for fishing). It was white bass pandemonium! Probably 275 witebass were caught making for nearly constant action, but this makes it difficult to get to the perch. Everyone had a blast! Many people consider whitebass less than desirable tablefare, but you should try them! When cleaned properly and eaten fresh (without freezing) they are every bit as good as any other pan fish. Since there is very little meat over the rib cage, only the loin needs to filleted off. In addition, when skinning, leave 1/8" of meat on the skin and you will have some beautiful pieces of meat for the fryer.

JULY 21, 2014 PM: Trip cancelled.

JULY 22, 2014 AM: 10 passengers got 40 perch, 40 whitebass, and a bunch sheephead. Lake was dead flat calm again. Made several moves, saw fish on the bottom, just not eating well.

JULY 22, 2014 PM: Trip cancelled, no sales. We regret that we don't run some of the trips with low sales. Believe us, we want to see as many people sample the fishing as possible, but we simply cannot afford to run the boat unless we have 8 passengers. Recently, we have closed some sales and cancelled trips, only to have people call in and ask if we were running that trip. Purchasing tickets a little further in advance would give us more opportunity to determine the number of passengers and plan accordingly. In the event that we must cancel a trip, we always work very hard to reschedule our customers or give them a full refund. We are working on a solution that would enable potential customers to see how many people are scheduled for a trip. Thank you for your understanding.

JULY 24, 2014 AM: Cancelled, too rough.
