Walleye Drifting Charter Rates
Something Catchy unveiled the S.C. Drifter. It is a 272 Sportcraft. In fact, it is the exact same model boat as Something Catchy Two. It is outfitted with modern electronics and a full arsenal of tackle. The thing that makes this opportunity unique is that the customers are directly in charge of the fishing. The crew will not be setting the lines out, setting the hooks, or pulling a rod out of a holder and handing it to the client to reel in a fish. You, the customer, are in charge of your presentation, hook set, and battle with the fish. Of course the crew is more than willing to help out if asked. Another thing unique to these trips is: We don’t care what we fish for. Let me explain. On dedicated walleye/steelhead trolling trips, it is very labor intensive to deploy all of the lines. It is also costly to repair and maintain all of the tackle, pay a first mate, and lest we not forget the added fuel cost of running the engine the whole time. It is for these reasons that we have to motor out to the fishing grounds and stay tight to the school of fish to be successful. In order to break down all of the gear, reposition the boat, and set up to fish for a different species, such as perch, the labor factor and costs go up. This is why (on trolling trips) we charge an extra fee to (literally) switch gears and set up for another type of fishing.
